Lynton and Lynmouth
After breakfast, the twin towns of Lynton & Lynmouth await exploration with
attractions to suit all tastes; invigorating walks, interesting shops,
beautiful countryside - all are virtually on the doorstep or within easy reach.
The area around Lynton is very popular with walkers doing the "Two Moors
Way" and the "South West Coast Path" as well as numerous other
shorter walks: guests are welcome to borrow maps and booklets of walks in the area.
In inclement weather, wet
clothes and boots can be dried ready for your next walk. The town centre of
Lynton is yards from the bottom of the drive and access to the picturesque
harbour of Lynmouth (famous for the Flood of 1952) is by the unique Victorian
water-powered Cliff Railway or a steep and winding path with panoramic views
over the Bristol Channel.
Once the residence of a wealthy Victorian merchant from Bristol, Rockvale
now offers the discerning guest all the comforts of home with the advantage
of serviced accommodation to suit families, couples and single travellers.
All the rooms except the single are en-suite (the single has a private bathroom),
two rooms sleep 3 and the large family room sleeps 4. In addition there are
two double rooms and a twin room.
Whatever the reason for visiting Lynton & Lynmouth or the wider Exmoor and
North Devon area, guests will find a warm friendly welcome, good food and
comfortable accommodation at Rockvale.
